OUR PROMISE TO LOCAL 2750

CLEAR PRIORITIES • STRONG REPRESENTATION • A UNION THAT WORKS FOR ITS MEMBERS

1 LEADERSHIP AND ACCOUNTABILITY

We will lead with transparency, responsibility, and an open door.

  • MEMBERS FIRST: Represent the best interests of crew members in every decision.

  • BE TRANSPARENT: Publish meeting minutes and financial reports on time, follow the bylaws, and reduce unnecessary spending.

  • EMPOWER OUR PEOPLE: Give stewards and committee members the tools they need to do their jobs without unnecessary intervention or oversight

  • LISTEN AND ACT: Welcome ideas and criticism, fix what we can, and engage management whenever needed so crew member voices are heard.

  • ESTABLISH AN E-BOARD—TO—MANAGEMENT COOLING OFF PERIOD: We will propose a Bylaws amendment establishing a minimum 18 month cooling off period between serving on the Executive Board and accepting a Management position with the company.

2 ENFORCE AND PROTECT THE CONTRACT

We will make contract enforcement more consistent, organized, and effective.

  • BUILD A DECISION DATABASE: Track significant settlement and arbitration decisions so past wins, arguments, and requested remedies remain consistent.

  • REVIEW GRIEVANCES MONTHLY: Bring stewards together to share information, review hearing results, discuss strategy changes, and decide next steps.

  • INVOLVE MORE STEWARDS: Increase steward participation in the grievance hearing process.

  • MOVE OPEN CASES: Aggressively pursue settlement and resolution of open grievances.

  • BRING PROFESSIONAL EXPERTISE TO THE TABLE: We will be open to retaining a professional labor negotiator to represent and advocate for Local 2750 during our ongoing CBA negotiations when doing so strengthens our negotiating position.

3 TRAIN AND CONNECT OUR COMMITTEES

Better information means better representation.

  • QUARTERLY COMMITTEE UPDATES AND CALLS: Hold quarterly calls with all committees to review current issues, share recent developments, and correct misinformation so committee members have the information they need.

  • GET ISSUES TO THE RIGHT PEOPLE: Streamline how highly specific isseus are routed to the committee or person best equipped to address them.

4 BETTER SERVICE FOR CREW MEMBERS

Members should receive meaningful service, useful education, and direct access to their representatives.

  • RAISE THE SERVICE STANDARD: Provide the level of customer service crew members should expect from a union supported by their hard-earned wages.

  • MONTHLY MEMBER CALL-IN SESSIONS: Offer monthly phone-in sessions with stewards on duty, focused on a topic members can ask questions about.

  • MAKE THE CBA EASIER TO USE: Publish a CBAG-like resource that explains the CBA in plain language and directs members to the relevant contract clauses.

  • BRING STEWARDS TO TRAINING: Allow the Steward Manager of the Month to attend new-hire and recurrent training classes to provide union updates, answer questions, technical support for login, and give crew members direct access to their union representatives.
